GitHub has gone - long live Forgejo (@forgejo).
Fully migrated out of Microsoft’s walled garden after they blocked us:

Everything moved. Nothing left behind.

@organicmaps @federico3 @forgejo Congrats! You’re doing awesome work 💕
@organicmaps Do you forget to update Mastodon profile?
@organicmaps time to wipe GitHub from your remaining profile, too :)
@nictakiego we confusingly have two accounts... probably we should kill one..
@organicmaps@mastodon.social @forgejo Thats great news! And not so good at the same time..we all know most contributors are on github, but hopefully it will be as recognizable as it was on github.
Also why github blocked you @organicmaps@mastodon.social ?
Another question, why don't you post on @organicmaps@fosstodon.org ?
@organicmaps @nictakiego It would be good to move away from mastodon.social so the fediverse isn't too centralised on one server.
@organicmaps Great! Please do not forget to update the link on your website 😉 And to let @fdroidorg know they have to update their recipe 😜 I've just done it at #IzzyOnDroid – and promptly an update was fetched which, according to the tag date, was waiting there for a couple of days already 😉
@organicmaps @forgejo Gratulations! I hope you won't have too much troubles to migrate your CI Actions too! I took me quite sometime to get this too!
@eatham Donetsk and Luhansk are shown as Ukrainian on Organic Maps. Crimea has a border with Ukraine and not with Russia. On upstream OSM it has borders with both. I'm happy to be corrected if I'm missing some nuance.
Also on OM, HK is part of the Guangdong map, but that is more weird than political. 😄
@chebra @organicmaps @forgejo looking at their map I'd assume they support Ukraine as it shows the contested areas as Ukrainian as it should
@organicmaps @forgejo Sorry, I have to ask. Do you support the russian invasion into Ukraine? Please make a clear statement, don't leave any room for alternative interpretations.
@organicmaps congrats! What was that block about – and how can we make Microsoft block more projects?
@chebra I agree that it raises flags. I was responding to the question in the immediate comment I was responding to, as I looked into the very same thing the other day and came to a different conclusion than they.
If the maps are different from upstream, it becomes more than a moral problem, it becomes a concrete influence operation.
So?
My question was not about borders. I'm asking because it looks like they have someone on their team who traveled to Crimea. Only one kind of people travel to Crimea and only one kind of people keeps them in a team.
@organicmaps @forgejo Amazing! And compared to every GitLab instance, it loads instantly <3
@organicmaps amazing move, congrats! Still drafting plans on our end to move away from GitHub and Microsoft nightmare. @forgejo
@chebra wait, why are you asking? I just checked and I think it shows Crimea as part of Russia (or at least puts a border with Russia there), even though it's Ukraine on OSM.
