   Putting aside the bit of time it would take to update the installers, can anyone give me a reason why it shouldn't be common place for browser choice to be part of normal distro installation process.

   Most distros don't do much or anything in the way of browser customization and often have most browsers in the repos.

     @BrodieOnLinux looking at arch for example. Only those in the pacman repo would be listable in an installer. Presumably other distros have similar lists.

     @BrodieOnLinux because they can’t really offer most of the browsers people use in that list?

     So in practice you would get a choice between a bunch of browsers you don’t want, so you can use it to figure out how to download the one you want
