people might have thought I was joking about the humility to counter pride month, but I think the whole "reflexive doubling down" is a sign of excessive self pride and lack of introspection.
Humbling a lot of these people is likely the best punishment available to them, and will be like hell on earth.

Its like with shame, it only works in-group. I think Scott Adams, aka Dilbert guy was the only example of someone admitting to be wrong and switching his position without pretending "I always had this position." Its all part of "I am never wrong" mindset fostered in boomers.
On one hand, its important to be confident, but on the other, its false confidence and self delusion.

@Marakus yes - and here is how it works; you publicly humble the worst, and the less worse offenders decide to rejoin the main group. They are then shamed by those who they thought were their friends.
