   @Paradox depends on the rope. Most reasonable grade toy rope is much harder to cut through than ripping off problematic latex in my experience

     I like ropes because if something goes wrong, they can be quickly and easily cut.
     I don't like latex because that's a lot of stuff you have to cut through in an emergency.

     Also I just hate the sound and sensation of rubber rubbing on rubber.
