@graf I don't remember if Poast was around for this, but an android fedi app added a list of domains that it would not make any requests to, because the developer thought Google was twisting their arm to do so. Once Google clarified (or was made aware of how fedi works), he took the list out.
The list was gab, another gab domain, and one other instance I don't remember.
When he took the list out, some very disturbed individuals basically gangstalked him and started a campaign to #fediblock any instance that didn't ban users for using his "nazi app"
I asked for and received permission to explain to one of them that such a block does not stop someone from forking the app or just using a browser to access Gab, that the developer shouldn't be asked to adjudicate requests/demands for instances to be added, and that it would encourage oppressive governments (like Saudi Arabia) to demand additions of their own, for example, because such countries don't allow LGBT-related content. I asked why are they going after fedi apps and not DNS providers.
The response? DNS providers are coming next, I don't know anything about anything, paradoxotolerance is a clear cut rubric and must be followed, and how dare I not understand the colonial cisnormativity of etc etc etc
They then proceeded to tell anybody who would listen, for a period of months, that I'm a super ultra mega nazi (I'm not) who has flag themed clothes (I don't) and probably rapes women (I'm gay), and that if people wanted to stand up for marginalized people they need to find me and punch me, and repeatedly posted fantasies mostly revolving around punching me.
This caused me to get passed around #fediblock because nobody checks or requires receipts for anything.
They blocked me, on an instance that already suspends mine. So when I posted screenshots of their profile I pulled up on their instance in a normal, not-even-private browser tab, they went around telling anybody who would listen that I was using a "hacked" Mastodon that bypasses blocks. This continued any time I posted a screenshot of this individual being absolutely unhinged towards someone they supposedly didn't want communication with. Repeated reminders of how literally anybody can open a profile up in a browser and how login sessions don't fucking carry across websites like that didn't stop the abuse. Another round on fediblock for using a "hacked" Mastodon, with absolutely no evidence or receipts or an explanation of what that even means.
In response to *all of this horseshit*, I said publicly "I'm going to perform an act that you would view as equally disrespectful as how you've been over the past few months. I'm calling you a guy. Please keep a note of how you feel now that I've called you a guy man dude bro, and consider being respectful towards others in the future, sir."
This caused me to get passed around fediblock a third time. This time for transmisamisa, my horrible terrible act of gross violence towards trans people was none other than performatively, one time, not respecting the gender identity of someone who had now spent multiple months committing gross acts of libel and slander and causing police to visit my place on some bullshit.
At this point, I began discussing Section 230 publicly, as it was in the news. Various politicians including the president were talking about amending or repeating it. I gave an explainer to a bunch of people with examples, the example being Octodon and how the legal process for how I would go about either finding kysalicia (my then-new name for 'kitsunealicia', the disturbed individual in question) to serve legal process for libel, or holding Octodon liable for it, would differ with and without Section 230 in place.
This caused me to get passed around fediblock a fourth time, this time for legal threats.
But very very shortly after I posted that explainer of how a court would, in such a suit, issue me a stack of blank subpoenas, and I would first issue one to Octodon, and they could either give up kysalicia or be held liable for the libel.... Kysalicia's Octodon account was deleted.
Was she banned or did her grandparents receive the email I sent them? Who knows. Who cares?
The mentality expiration event was Summer 2019; Poast arrived January 2021.
> The response? DNS providers are coming next,
They don't know how any of it works; this was probably a face-saving maneuver because 90% of the fediblock people don't know what DNS is. People have added fedilist.com to their blocklists, despite this having no effect. husky--hitler_tusky.jpg
