   Glimpse was a joke - it immediately fell apart, as none of the wrongspeak revisionists who want to rewrite GNU out of history and the present actually wanted to put the effort in to improve the software.

     I haven't really looked into the debate for changing GIMP's name, but I certainly agree that other brand names would fit this project better. Glimpse, a name for a now-gone fork of it, would be perfect, but I'd be interested if they come up with other names, such as:
     - GNOME Touchups (in-line with the simple namings of other GTK4-based apps)
     - Picrevise/Imadjust, which sound quite a bit silly, but are unique and convey well GIMP's role as an image editor
     
     I guess the thing, though, is that GIMP doesn't want the risk of ditching their brand with a worse one, and that it feels that the debate for name change isn't well-known outside Fedi (On Bluesky, I mostly get results just talking about the program (after scrolling through the hornyposting and AI vomit)). :neofox_think:
