@lain kinda. Evolution has worked in layers. Instead of changing the older stuff newer stuff is added that can override it, and a lot of things can still be done almost normally (when nothing goes wrong) without the older stuff. You’ll notice these people are always missing the inner, dumb but mammalian parts. They’ve got the lizard brain keeping the heart beating and digestion running, and the outer layer of deliberate control.
