     @condret sure I mean the problem with the data is that it's open access data that some assholes locked up so I don't mind if facebook makes it accessible. at least they have a value-add over the raw documents, while the gatekeepers add nothing
     
     if ppl can maintain torrents of scientific data then it doesn't need gatekeepers

     @sun i get why they have huge problems with tech corpos making profit of other people's work through LLMs. i don't like that either, it's exploitation. But this isn't new, exploitation is and always has been fundamental to capitalism, just like automatization. To draw the line at LLMs feels dishonest to me.
     
     I also don't think art is art, if it is created with the intention to make a living from it. I know this is a radical position, but to me only hobbyists can be true artists. Art is art, when it is not a product.
