@anemone @Hoss yeah, if i were to say, terry davis did something very cool and complex, but ultimately a toy, while marcan has done stuff that, while still for entertainment purposes (console hacking/homebrewing), and the asahi stuff. Marcan has essentially made things that are more useful to others than templeOS was -

@pomstan @anemone @Hoss it doesn't make sense, I'd never run that, one of the reasons I plan on buying a macbook is to get away from linux! -

@pomstan @anemone @Hoss @mischievoustomato It's a historical thing that got somehow revived by marcan. Back in the PowerMac days, early OS X, "old" MacOS sucked and the m68k and powerpc ports were somewhat popular in Debian. They then switched to Intel and most of the interest died for obvious reasons. -

@pomstan @anemone @Hoss @mischievoustomato Why would they, the internals of the system are similar enough and Windows on ARM barely works. If you really need Windows, you buy Parallels in typical Apple fashion. Or use UTM, if you are slightly more knowledgeable. Johnny Peligro likes this. -

@phnt @anemone @Hoss @mischievoustomato it's weird that macos doesn't offer hypervisor tools for running linux like windows does with WSL
they only have apis, and even they got added like 3 years ago
