     "Conspiracy theories"? Before 9/11, #Jan6, the invasion of #Crimea, of #Ukraine, talking about these ideas would have been considered just that.

     You need to do your own research. I had a very hard time believing it for weeks and only after much reading I came to be believe that, alas, we live in such a world. Here is a starting point:

     Yes, most Western car producers have bought from #Rusal, like #Tesla.
     However, in contrast to them, there usually isn't a personal connection with their CEO and the #Russian president working towards the goal of replacing the #USD as #reserve currency, like #Elmo's #PayPal, #Thiel. (See @davetroy threads)

     Presently, #TESLA's non-#Chinese production facilities R all in the #US. Any intended expansion of the #EU scheme w/ #Rusal will now be 2 costly.

     @HistoPol @uanews @davetroy What "connection with their CEO and the Russian president"? What "working toward the goal of replacing the #USD"? These are nonsensical conspiracy theories. Musk has spoken to Putin a single time - and while the Russian media was fond of his "peace plan", they're not fond of him providing Starlink to Ukraine, and he's regularly squabbled with Rogozin. And while he was briefly a big Bitcoin enthusiast, it's been tempered.

     And no, Tesla has a factory in Berlin.

     Yes, #Tesla has a #Gigafactory in #Grünheide, Brandenburg. This is how this whole discussion about #Rusal started (should have written, "...other than...").

     I am not #Elmos personal assistant, but to believe that #Putler has called #Elmo only once, and just be it because #Starlink gave the #Ukrainian army a major strategic advantage that cost him dearly, is only self-evident.      @HistoPol @uanews What does this have to do with Tesla? Rusal provides like a tenth of all the alumium on Earth. Most if not all automakers buy from them. For example, Constellium - supplier for Ford, Chrysler, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, etc - has been outspoken in their support of Rusal.

     The only Tesla-specific contract I'm aware of was for Giga Berlin (an unknown percentage of its total), and - point of fact - Berlin is not America, where this tariff will be.

     @HistoPol @uanews Why dod you link to a thread about how Tesla buys from Rusal, when I just pointed out that the only known contract is Giga Berlin (so this doesn't apply) and basically all automakers buy from Rusal?

     Again: Rusal makes 1/10th of all alumium on Earth.

     There's no "there" there.
