Such software doesn't even respect the users freedom, thus it cannot be "better".
Even assuming that functionally it has more operations and is more convenient to use (which is not the case), you shouldn't surrender your freedom just for that.
Even if using free software is 10x harder and is 10x slower, I will use free software and keep my freedom, but I've found that free software is usually 10x easier and 1000x faster.
It's not even gratis - you pay with your freedom and your privacy (the proprietary malware JavaScript spies on you) and if you want more than 500MB storage, you must pay money too.
Most JavaScript+SaaSS software contains spyware and other malicious functionality, making most of those malware.
Meanwhile, GIMP is free as in freedom, doesn't spy on you, doesn't even enter metadata into photos without asking and is also gratis, but you don't recommend that as you have skill issues.
