Do any experienced vegans have great recipes, meal ideas or useful tips to share? Since I’m relatively new to this, but was a vegetarian for over 12 years before making the switch :blobfoxthink:
@foxhkron Took me ages to actually follow a recipe on https://grimgrains.com/ as I tend to cook whatever I have at home but I tried their chili beans and it's pretty neat.
Also for meals I quite like: - curry with potato/sweet-potato/carrot/… (I feel like I should try parsnip in there at some point) - fried vegs in general (potato chunks, rösti, random vegs, …), with adding pasta/rice sometimes if there isn't much vegs; and imho fried noodles (be it yakisoba or yakiudon) are best - forgot the name but basically lazy okonomiyaki where you just toss some vegs into a wheat batter and fry it pancake style - random vegetable brick soups when I'm extra lazy and it's somewhat cold weather - (choccy/cocoa+) soy milk + wheat + pan (+ optional: yeast) → (choccy) pancake!
@gospodin@foxhkron lentils mention reminds me that I should make a proper Dal/Dhal at some point… so many times I just cooked some red lentils, added some random spice, and then rice.
@lanodan@foxhkron can also recommend grimgrains, their red lentil stew became an integral part of my diet. It's full of protein, tasty, easy to make, and it's taste can be tweaked with spices.
