@Jewpacabra What these people aren't liking is that if they want to offer a salary and aren't getting takers, that means they need to offer more.
They have an amount they want to pay, and just want to FORCE people to take it.

@sickburnbro yeah. they won’t get anyone worth a fuck with that pay (and not even a blanket offer of per diem). Last I recall, there’s multiple shipyards right there there and Norfolk poached a lot of their workers because they ran them into the ground during Covid. pretty sure one of the CEO’s complained to Congress about it and then continued to implement shit policies that led to higher attrition rates. -

@sickburnbro when you collapse your work force with DEI policies and communist unions that ensure a race to the bottom, you’re gonna have to beg the specialists to come save you. that means the specialists make their offers instead of the other way around, I look forward to seeing that. @sickburnbro Bro I make 30 an hour welding after 5 years and I have no choice but to stay in this shitty fume-breathing job or I can't afford to live in Vancouver. Fuck this country. -

@sickburnbro isn't this the same argument that has been going on for 200 years regarding the "destruction of US shipbuilding"? That worker pay is too high?
Where the fuck is all the money going then? I know some people are getting rich off this shit, and it isn't the workers. -

@sickburnbro Koreans probably do pay somewhere around there but their base cost of living is way less, they get free healthcare, and doing shipbuilding there doesn't mean you have to go live in Hampton Groids Bread up, Bro likes this. -

@kc-poast follow the money always applies.
But it's pretty simple, if you want quality work, pay quality money. It seems like they just want to slap together ships that suck ass. So why don't they just come out and say that.
