@travisfw And, again, I don't think that knowing how everyone else is doing is better than having food, clothing, shelter, love, fulfillment.

@evan the point is that we depend on each other, and such interdependence is prerequisite to wellbeing, and for interdependence to work, we have to care about each other, and the only good way to know how much we care about each other is how much we pay attention to eachothers' wellbeing. So, knowing each other is prerequisite to wellbeing. The fabric of society holding everything together is not bureaucratic. Nor is it any specific number, because numbers are easily manipulated.
