   It's funny to see all this political drama around Social Security and entitlements that's being reported as if there's an ice cube's chance in hell of getting me or any other Zillennials to give a single fuck about what happens to any of it, knowing full well we're paying into some bullshit that'll have been insolvent for decades by the time we reach "retirement age".

     They're all saying DOGE wants to cut Social Security to zero using an out of context clip of Elon where they cut off the part where he makes it specific he's talking about the billions in fraudulent benefits being siphoned. Even if he did say what the media narrative wants people to believe, it wouldn't bother me at all. I loathe how much gets forcibly taken out of my paycheck for the government-sponsored boomer ponzi scheme every single week when I look at the breakdown.

     It needs to be optional. It is literally an investment with a negative return; generational theft. It only exists to (sort of) line the pockets of the previous generation and should either be overhauled completely or abolished in full.
     
     If you had the option, would you willingly dump hundreds of dollars a month into an IRA that only offers a fraction of the contribution in return? Fuck no!
     
     Boomer is incapable of understanding this basic concept.

     The opinions I've heard from boomers are more like "You gotta pay in 'cause I had to pay in and I want my money's worth". Not a compelling argument, we all had to put our money in at gunpoint, somebody's gonna have to lose if we want to stop the generational ponzi scheme from perpetuating further.

     Even the Social Security Administration admits freely that the model is both broken & unsustainable, as it was assumed the receipients would only draw for 10-12 years before dying. Obviously not the case, and it does not help that SSA funds are frequently used to patch up budget shortfalls, to fund some bullshit pet project that goes nowhere, or, as DOGE recently discovered, is still being disbursed to people who have long since passed away!

     If Social Security shut down tomorrow and I lost everything I paid into it, but no longer have to fork over another piece of my paycheck into the scam, I'd consider it an acceptable sacrifice.

     The best way to do it "soft" would be to shut it down and then give everybody at least a partial tax credit for what they pissed away into the scheme.
