Hmmmm... anyone know how the algorithm works in Mastodon? I thought you only saw posts from those you followed! This is super interesting example of (Russian?) propaganda dissemination. I don't follow this pro-Russian account 'Europe Says' but I am getting its posts in my feed, I also don't follow the 'Politics' feed, the only account to have boosted it.

@MarSolRivas @emmalbriant Yeah, hashtag seems the most likely explanation. This is why I've been against the whole hype of "use hashtags because there's no algorithm!" from the beginning. They're trivially spammable and bypass the otherwise satisfied "everything is vetted by your relationships" promise of Mastodon.
