   It mostly depends on the life situation. Since COVID, I work from home, and if I travel, I rarely need the performance or could survive for some time without it.

   What I like about going with the combo is that I would expect the Mac Studio to outlast the MacBook Pro. I currently use an M1 Pro from 2020. I could easily survive another 2 years, but things like battery and material wear are showing their signs.

   A Mac Studio could last maybe for 10 years?

     @bnys Totally. It stresses me out to carry my expensive laptop all over the world and if something happens I'm fucked because I need it to work and the data on it.

     @obrhoff I'm always in favor of a desktop with a less expensive laptop as a secondary machine. it gives me security that if the laptop dies (mobile devices have more opportunities to get into trouble!) I will always have a "big computer" to rely on.
