@RadicalCartoons It's worse than no placebo, they exclude drop-outs from outcomes. You can't teach math this bad. I sat a table of lawyers and calming explained this. They sat wide-eyed. Yup, a day of reckoning and hangings will be in our future.
@RadicalCartoons It's like the fish oil 'trial' a few years back, only this time, the stakes are much higher. Nobody suffered physical harm from taking fish oil and pretending it was a study; this one will leave a trail of bodies.
Ben Goldacre used to be pretty good for pointing out bullshit in how science is reported in the media. Seems strangely quiet on this one. Can't think why.
@EatKnitSleepAgain@RadicalCartoons I read his book Bad Science about eight years ago. I think it informed my scepticism about convid, especially as Neil Ferguson was mentioned everywhere.
@EatKnitSleepAgain@RadicalCartoons Ben (the author) is on my "Official Cowards of Covid" -- a man who has written extensively on medical and health fraud, and not only fell for the terrible math and lies of Covid, but promoted the nonsense. I've certainly added Naomi Klein to that list (disaster capitalism). The utter failure of those who knew better will go down in history. We'll make sure of it. But not all suffered from cowardice, there is a good list too (but they were cancelled).
@KeepTakingTheSoma@EatKnitSleepAgain@RadicalCartoons There are those who think the system that requires no mechanism and staged trials can be fixed, not realizing the method is the fraud. There are plenty that know the method is the fraud, but they exist in tiny journals (if they're professors) or fringe youtube channels. But there are very smart people who understand Pharma is not science, not at all.
@KeepTakingTheSoma@RadicalCartoons I really enjoyed Bad Science, and lent it to as many people as I could. I suppose it's easy to be a sceptic when the things you're being sceptical about are mostly considered hippy-dippy bullshit anyway. Shame he turned out to be a coward.
