   I don't like working when there are other people who can see my screen... I'm scared they'll look and judge what I'm doing... I want to get over that

     Open plan offices actually suck. Managers like it because they don't do any actual work, but in reality they are actually proven to be less productive than traditional offices. They come with more downsides like noise and distraction.
     
     For some reason a lot of people seem to think that cubicles are antiquated but I think it is actually the most productive way of working, especially if your job requires concentration such as programming.

     @iro_miya@mk.absturztau.be Oh I saw the "work" word and I automatically assumed it was about offices because I'm apparently corpo brained.
     
     I don't think I would be able to live in a communal space without having any private space I can retreat to if I don't feel like socializing. I don't think my autism could handle that.

     @SuperDicq@minidisc.tokyo I live in a pretty communal household and we have few rooms, so I can't have my own, and I'd prefer to learn to share a room anyway, because, you know, it's communal
