   Laptop froze while asleep again. Gonna try a system restore, I'm sure to no avail 🙃 guess this piece of shit has half a foot in the grave and it'll only get worse in the coming few months. Thats how @Njord's identical laptop went out

   Never buying a gaming laptop ever again. And before anyone comes at me, there were literally no laptops available in 2021 when we bought these. The other model we wanted had a "pay us now and maybe get your laptop 6 months from now if you're lucky" payment model

     None for the consumer market. At least when buying new.
     
     If you want a mostly affordable laptop that won't probably develop a keyboard/stability issue in two years, decommissioned business laptops that have been refurbished are the way. Business laptops are at least mostly repairable unlike consumer trash.

     maybe it's fixable idk. i had a gpu freeze until i reapplied thermal paste many years ago..

     @lucy @Njord @eniko There aren't better by a lot, but at least you can get replacement parts for them from the manufacturer (usually) and their design is still somewhat modular compared to consumer laptops. That said, Dells business laptops have been getting progressively worse every year and you usually can't find even a replacement keyboard for them, if you have the EU layout (US keyboards usually have a different physical footprint). And HP isn't worth it at all.
     
     If you want to play games on a laptop, my recommendation is literally don't. None of the gaming laptops are worth it in my opinion.

     @phnt @Njord @eniko generally modern business laptops aren't any better. it's not that simple anymore. and the older devices probably aren't gonna be helpful when you play (somewhat modern) video games :sadblob:
