Kentucky has closed down several mine safety locations.
Coming from a family of miners, watching what has happened when some moved to non union mines, I've seen first hand what lack of mine safety does to a person and a family.

Why not, they already fight tooth and nail to keep child marriage legal. 🤮
When Project 2025 hits the section about allowing children to work dangerous jobs with parents' permission, we're going to go back to the 1930s when dad gets hurt in the mines so they send in the teenage son to support the family.
It's so disgusting.
I was 15 when my mom set me up with my "boyfriend" who was 24. I was 17 and my "boyfriend" was 39.
It took me years to realize they weren't my boyfriends.
@KentuckyConjurer
Oh wow. I'm so sorry if that was triggering. I've never actually met anyone that happened to. My mom was an awful cunt too. *hugs*
Not at all! Thank you for asking.
Just looking back, I'm like, WTF was she thinking?

'I never thought the leopards would eat MY face'
I really worry but they are getting what they voted for. I spoke with my brother last night and he just couldn't believe. He mines and is in charge of safety in a non union mine. His son mines. His son-in-law mines. My niece works in the office of a mine. They all voted for Trump.
My uncle and his sons mine.
They all voted for Trump.
Every single one of them.
@KentuckyConjurer @jacklaridian All of this is so messed up. :(
Exactly.
Not to mention my niece get special services in school for her son who has severe autism. Guess what? Cutting that program, too.
She was also on food stamps for a couple of years before she remarried, yet went on and on at Christmas about people abusing the system.
AFTER they decided not to marry until they had all the kids they wanted because "the state will pay for them".
THESE are the people yelling about fraud in the system.
@KentuckyConjurer @thyrsuscat
Yeah, I have those people in my family too. They rail against 'handouts' but when they lose their job, they stay on unemployment way longer than they should. 😅
