     I've spent years of my life cultivating a willingness to reach across the aisle and be friends with people who are ideologically different from me. It is probably my best trait, and being shut down in this fashion hurts deeply because I made that effort and these people turned up their noses at it.

     In that case, i would say lying and putting a façade is really easy for me. That or i naturally compartimentalize everything so i don't let it bother me.
     
     The only one that might get alarmed is my best friend, but he knows i don't want to talk about politics IRL
