     @Nudhul I don't really know about the Satan stuff. But he'll is a place where sinners go and all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. God gave his son to die for our sins and offers us the free gift of salvation all you have to do is have faith in him. Going to heaven isn't about being a good person or how many times a week you pray it's about having faith in God that is how you are forgiven for your sins.

     @BigTony i dont believe hell is even a place, more like a state of being. hell is where sinners go because it is seperated from god. god's presence is everywhere tho and is suffused in all things, as they are his creations. so if god is everywhere on earth and beyond how can a place exist that's separate from him? by not being a place at all is how. hell imo is non-existence. when a person dies without having atoned for his sins by accepting jesus as his savior, his spirit dies as well. the person that was is gone forever. thats what makes sense to me.
     
     
     if hell is an actual place tho i think i prefer dante's interpretation of a layered pit because in his comedy it's possible for sinful souls to find redemption through great effort and perseverence, even after death.

     @BigTony on a related note, why do christians think satan is the eternal enemy constantly out to get them and pull them away from grace?
     
     i always regarded satan as an example of the folly of pride. he isn't powerful and frankly it feels a bit sacriligeous to ascribe so much power to him. its your own imperfections that set you back from being who you ought to be and conquering your flaws is the essence of your spiritual journey. thats what i think.
     
     also i dont believe in hell being a big burning pit where sinners suffer for eternity.

     @Nudhul yeah but it's kinda complicated nowadays because there's so many people with weird beliefs now. Most Christians arent even real anymore they just want a place to hang out and feel good.back in the day when America was mostly just protestants it was a lot simpler but now we got catholics and orthodox here and they aren't gonna want to cooperate with anyone else.

     imo sin is anything that degrades quality of life. temperence is your bastion against sin. pride by itself isnt bad. if you have no pride at all people will walk all over you, disrespect you and use you. just dont go around thinking you're better than you are. by overindulging in what are typically regarded as sin is when they become harmful. enjoy food, enjoy sex, relax on sundays. just dont go overboard with it.
