@bigmattoidchimpin @zeke @RichardKuklinskisIcyGlare If you want good sounding headphones for cheap, get porta pros tbh.

@zeke @RichardKuklinskisIcyGlare Believe it or not, my most durable set of headphones like that are just some old TASCAMs. They're quite cheap too relatively speaking.

They made killer headphones in the late 90s early oughts 😏 they were way louder and more immersive than they are now. They seem too quiet now

The model I used for my Mad Max headphone project is an old Sony pair that I bought in the early 90's. Really good sounding set that a lot of audio engineers use when they're mixing sound. I don't care what anybody says, a good pair of Over the Ear phones sound better than earbuds, a bit louder too.
If yours aren't loud enough, there are volume boost Apps that you can download to your smartphone. I use "Good EV."

I got a pair of the JBL tunes ones. They're ok quality but not loud enough and hate how I can't chew on any food without them falling out or you lose one or the padding off one.

I got tired of that shit, as well as the fact that they don't last more than a month on average due to shorting out. So, I dug an ancient pair of "Over the Ear" headphones out of the closet, and busted out my soldering iron and rewired them with thick speaker wire that won't break, and I used heat shrink at the jack and ear level to reinforce it all. On my morning walks, I get some funny looks cuz I look like I just strolled out of 1977, but I kind of like it because it gives me that "this dude might be crazy" vibe, so they leave me the fuck alone.

@RichardKuklinskisIcyGlare Man, they're so fucking frustrating. I had a set that worked reliably, but they just completely died after a few weeks. Decided not to bother with 'em for a little while after that. All the other ones I've messed with since just have the most annoying issues, like one will connect and the other won't, or when I finally do get both connected, it'll say they have 60% power when they've been sitting in the goofy charger all day. I guess I'm doing market research on what brands/companies to never fuck with again.
