   It's been a relatively busy day at work so far for me today, so I've not been actively looking at Mastodon and seems I've missed some stuff along the way.

   @beardedtechguy just informed me that @protonprivacy is leaving Mastodon, which I now see by what they have in their bio and I'm curious as to why this is happening.

   Not only that, but how are people feeling about this that actually use Proton?

   Are y'all moving to another paid email service and if so, where are you going?

   Are you sticking with Proton?

     I'm not sure what I want/need to do at this point. I just renewed my Proton subscription family plan not even two weeks ago as it's been a year with them already.

     I really don't want to move elsewhere and force my wife to move elsewhere either. We've literally just gotten comfortable using their services and I have switched my email account from my 20+ year old Gmail account to my Proton account on most everything I own now days.

     @cliffwade gladly they always seemed expensive, mostly due the currency exchange needed in my country.

     But then they started to side with Musk (and against Brazilian judiciary), crypto, IA and now Trump himself. So I guess it was for the best.

     Currently I'm using FastMail and very satisfied with it (including support), but I understand that they're not exactly like Proton or Tuta.
