     @breizh @simon_brooke Yep. And that additional functionality is essential, for example, for the Small Web (where we need JavaScript on the client and a base level of Web features).

     @aral @simon_brooke I’ve read it, it’s something in-between. The essay allows a little more functionality than the technologies I mentioned.

     But to be more serious, the principle is nice for agreeing on what we call lightweight, but in practice those who worry about making a lightweight web are already more or less doing it, and those who don't care won’t start caring about it, so…
