@yomiel @contrapunctus @Pi_rat I won't use a corebooted computer as those still run proprietary malware.

Unfounded claim. That's like saying you wont use a corebooted computer because it might still have hardware inside it that phones home.

@evanchaney What #privacy respecting alternatives should #Apple users move to? 🤔

Fairphone is only available in the EU, last I checked.

Android could work if you never use a Google account and stick to #FreedomRespectingSoftware such as F-Droid instead of Play Store.

AOSP ROMs (such as #LineageOS) are ideal, but that usually entails buying used, or paying top-dollar to Google for a Pixel. There are probably local #FreeSoftware communities who'd love to help with the installation process.

#Apple’s #privacy policy for #Siri now says Apple can retain transcripts of and related inputs to your interactions with Siri for 2 years or more. The “Delete Siri & Dictation History” button only deletes _local_ copies of your transcripts. The only way to opt out is to turn off both Siri and dictation.

I feel like this didn’t used to be the case. I don’t recall transcripts being collected. I recall that you could delete stored data from Apple’s servers.

      Am I misremembering?
