It is very hard to accept, but it is no longer safe to move EU governments & societies to US clouds. Not only is it dangerous to do so, it is also likely flat out illegal in the near feature. We're trading convenience for utter dependence on a mad king. It should stop.

@bert_hubert maybe it's no longer safe but it's been incredibly stupid for some 30y now.

@Johns_priv @bert_hubert there are very few people---let alone companies or government bodies---that realize a computer is a universal machine and not a fancy typewriter.

Let's keep users stupid is the mantra.

it's never been safe, because even the most seemingly trustworthy third-party-controlled system you rely on is always one quick power transition away from turning into your worst nightmare.

the problem is that people and even businesses and governments don't seem to think of even the immediate future, the assessment is usually about the present, carrying a (more and more unfit) assumption that future and present look similar

@bert_hubert The quicker we cut the cord, the less it’s going to hurt in the long term.

Taking a little pain up front is much better than blood & tears later!
