   Now BMW putting its plans for making electric Minis in Oxford on hold because of 'market uncertainty' i.e. nobody wants electric vehicles

     There's no good reason to switch over to electric cars anyway. They're inferior vehicles with a limited range that are also expensive and have a tendency to catch fire.

     That's actually a major reason why I want to buy an old 100% mechanical pickup truck from the 70's. As long as the engine and tranny are in good shape I don't care if it looks a bit beat up. They can't shut it down remotely or track it in any way, and they're way easier to work on and repair yourself.

     It's far easier to remote shut down an electric vehicle than a fuel one. Installation of command modules is simpler on electrics which are also far less likely to be bypassed by knowledgeable men who have tools.
