Yes, that's a Warcraft reference. Vaelastrasz makes sophisticated dungeon synth with an old school game music heart, and plays live more than most exponents of the genre.

This Neglelsforst track is pure dungeon synth, other EPs include some additional black metal elements but are still DS dominant.

More dark ambient than dungeon synth, but the specific vibes are similar.
ANCST also makes black metal, crust, and metalcore, so vary quite a lot from album to album!

Hmm. Compleyely the opposite in that it's fully analogue to dungeon synth's digital spirit but: Let me know if this vibe also works for you in that spirit because if so I may have more recommendations!

This musical genre pushes the right buttons for me, it somehow gets me into a "board gaming" mood!

They describe themselves as Norse folk, which they're pretty faithful exponents of.
In broader terms, I'd put them under the neofolk umbrella, which I don't blame them for rejecting, as it's a historically problematic genre which had a Nazi problem early on (like some parts of early black metal and dungeon synth), although the overwhelming direction of the genre now feels more hospitable to anti-fascists than the opposite (as one would hope), thanks to the work of organisations like A Blaze Ansuz (https://antifascistneofolk.com/).

I listened to some of songs I found through the A Blaze Ansunz website. 🙂 While I find the general sound very interesting, I think I have to come back to this at another point. Somehow, it feels a bit too "heavy" for my current mood.
(Same goes for a lot of "Dungeon Synth" I randomly found on Band Camp. The songs from "Rogue Radio" & your songs were more lighthearted, but this does not seem to be typical for the genre!)
