   @monkey @Tony @verita84 Yeah Solaris had this in the early 2000's, they were called zones. The kernel could have fully isolated namespaces and you could run multiple copies of the entire OS in zones on the same machine.
   
   Linux containerization is a combination of half a dozen separate featuresets that provide it as a leaky abstraction

     Zones were cool but that initial setup each time......Docker was better because you can automate it and run it

     @verita84 @Tony @monkey they are conceptually completely different because docker is a single process running on top of the kernel and zones are the entire os in a container
