@polarisera This is a generation who think that feeling a bit sad is evidence of mental ill health. They pathologise life and experiences.
There are some people with mental health problems, and some of them are serious. They can't get help because the system is clogged up with wannabes.
If more people went out in the fresh air more often, had a laugh with friends, ate fresh food they cooked from scratch and got off their phones, the number of people with mental ill health would plummet, and those that really need it might get some help.
But the pharmaceutical industry wouldn't make money. -

Not exactly, they have been brainwashed into believing all emotion is a chemical imbalance, by a bunch of mathless morons, who don't even follow the complexity of real consciousness theories (none of which are based on chemical vats, now). Just take some chemicals for your chemical vat, and don't philosophize about why we're morons who can't even think straight.
