Ok, THIS is how you do UX for an e2ee messaging app when you want to make it clear who you are and aren't doing it for. 🔥
Props to @VeilidNetwork team.

@VeilidNetwork Tired: Having your cryptographic privacy project overrun by rightwing pedo assholes.
Wired: Telling them to fuck off before you become a nazi bar.
Inspired: putting a pronouns field on the account creation form so they fuck off by themselves and whine about woke mind virus and go use some insecure shit instead and end up in jail for the shit they're doing.
@lispi314 @VeilidNetwork I'm not sure if the name is just used locally to identify which account it is to yourself, or also presented as a default name to contacts when making connection. But it seems useful. You can make it whatever you want it to be. It's not any kind of account name on a centralized service.
@ocdtrekkie @lispi314 @VeilidNetwork Requiring declaration of pronouns is transphobic because it forces anyone who's not out to misgender themselves.
@lispi314 @dalias @VeilidNetwork I was going to say... if you made pronouns a required field, you could guarantee every toxic person who registered would tell on themselves in it.
@dalias @VeilidNetwork ooh. Can't wait until the beta program opens up to new people again!
@dalias @VeilidNetwork Uh yeah. Definitely not for people with impaired vision.
@wamserma @VeilidNetwork Thanks for pointing that out. It's the default theme (at least if your device is dark mode) and I don't remember if you're prompted to select that before identity setup. But if not that needs to be fixed as an accessibility bug.
