   The Thunderbolts trailer looks like it's going to be based entirely on banter between Baby Sister Black Widow and Red Guardian, and I am unironically *psyched* for this movie. This was the good part of "Black Widow".

     Last night we re-watched "Black Widow".
     
     When you're not watching it in the context of boohoo Marvel just peaked and what is this unnecessary prequel sequel midquel nobody asked for ... and just watch it ... it's a pretty good movie. And fun! And the backstory backfill is actually a bit interesting.

     Tonight we watched "Thunderbolts*". It had the banter, even better than I expected, but it also had a pretty good story, character depth and emotional weight. Much better than "Captain America: Brave New World", which felt mostly like filler and an extended version of its own trailer. After a long and slow post-Endgame Marvel period, I am excited about where this is going. And I'm really looking forward to the Fantastic Four movie, which looks pretty sure to become the first good Fantastic Four movie.

     @notclacke @clacke I found it a funny action movie. And that's what I look for in Marvel movies. Having hot women in tight suits help, but I realised I like the Marvel movies that have witty dialogues more than the mainly action ones.

     @ghostdancer Yeah. :)
     
     The Hawkeye series seemed quite unnecessary and uninteresting, but now that we've learned that it fleshes out Yelena, suddenly we're interested to see it. Thunderbolts mad Black Widow more interesting, and Hawkeye sits in between. It seems Hawkeye will have some of that Yelena banter too. And it has the musical within the show, where they misrepresent the Battle of New York, and Hawkeye gets annoyed that the musical included Ant Man, when he was nowhere near that battle. :)

     @desikn That is true, most people don't. But the movie is enjoyable without these things and fills in the rough lines itself. These things are not necessary preexisting knowledge.
     
     If someone wants to dive deep, catch the deep references, and if they perhaps saw two thirds of these things already, here's what they can catch up on, if they want to.

     @notclacke You just summed up the problem with the MCU and other franchises.

     Nobody wants to rewatch a dozen previously released movies and series to enjoy that one new movie.

     @notclacke Not following the Marvel tv series too much for me, the only one I watched was the one with Scarlett Witch and the Vision.
