After I receive them, I wanna publish the stickers I made to GitHub so anyone can get them made. It'll be a PDF that can be edited in Illustrator but that's also ready to be sent to any sticker printer.

It'll be under CC BY-SA 4.0, so go wild but remember to credit and use the same licence.

@iro_miya@mk.absturztau.be What about a SVG file that can be easily edited with Inkscape on a git host that does not require you to run nonfree JavaScript like Codeberg?

@iro_miya@mk.absturztau.be Doesn't Scribus do these things?

@SuperDicq@minidisc.tokyo I might use Codeberg actually!

Inkscape is completely unsuitable for publishing because it doesn't support CMYK, spot colours, proper PDF output, and maybe some more stuff down the line, I wouldn't know as I've given up on it.

But CMYK support is being worked on and I will re-evaluate is once it has it. Currently there is no free software suitable for creating printed designs. Yes, it's a total embarrassment

@iro_miya@mk.absturztau.be I have used Scribus a lot and I have to admit it can be a little cumbersome to use. You can import SVGs from Inkscape tho which is what usually do

@SuperDicq@minidisc.tokyo Scribus is publishing software, not design software. It's meant to be used to edit documents.

At least we have that for print publishing, it is very nice. I just wish we had anything for print designs...

My designs make use of a lot of features I wouldn't expect publishing software to have, like masks and layer effects. But I have to admit I haven't tried it. I'd expect the experience to be pretty bad though, no fault of their own since that's not what the software was built for.

Still at least you could make use of the fact that it has spot colours to add your own cutlines on a design made with Inkscape, so at least you might be able to struggle your way into getting something printable.

@iro_miya@mk.absturztau.be Also don't sleep on LibreOffice Draw for PDF editing. It's underrated.
