   Well...I think the writing is on the wall now for the end of my Fediverse journey.

   Mastodon will implement the ability to stop someone from linking to your post.

   Want someone to stop calling you out for being a shithead?

   Just stop everyone from being able to link to your post!🤦♂️

   Want to stop someone from showing evidence that your an asshole?

   Yep. When this is implemented, I'm officially out.😒

   Too many assholes on here to be able to feel comfortable not being able to call them out.

     @reiver well, since I'm pretty Linux illiterate, I'll have to find an instance on another software that would take me because I'm running into issues keeping this mastodon server maintained as it is.

     I'm sure I have time, but with Mastodon's vice grip on the Fedi userbase, this doesn't feel good.

     Fedi Mafia gonna be in full swing with the Mastodon team having their backs. Who gonna stop them when nobody can link to their posts?😒

     @Nox @ppb1701 direct harassment in replies is more prevalent in Fedi in my experience.

     Assholes don't care about doing it "nicely" by linking. They just harass you in your replies.

     @the_spc facts. There's still time for clarification and possible correction if they're thinking of this route.

     There's also other Fediverse software I can migrate to, that I wouldn't have to put up with that crap.

     So there's options, I'm just a bit emotional right now in the moment cause this has been cooking for over a year and I've had the same concerns the whole time.

     This has been on my mind since Threads came into existence because that's how threads does Quote Posts. If you want to link to another threads post on threads, it's automatically a quote post. Someone limits their quote posts?

     Well then, you're not linking to it.

     @the_spc my concerns have been quelled. At least for now.

     "A link is not a quote post" is what a mastodon dev just told me.
