@seabikeblog They'll change their tune if the state lets all the roads turn to gravel. :blobfoxevil:

Wow, just checked in on the public hearing for this. Republicans and other opponents have gotten about 20,000 people to sign in against it. I thought it might not be popular, but yikes. https://app.leg.wa.gov/csi/House?selectedCommittee=31651&selectedMeeting=32709

@gnu2 Hippie?!? I’m no scholar of American history in the mid-20th century, but I don't remember a call to supplant gas taxes with a road usage charge being part of the youth counterculture movement at that time. Though to be fair, I wasn't born yet so maybe I missed it.

Hippies used to be cool folks who fought against war and for equal rights. Now-a-days neo hippies are just people who smell bad and don't want to work.

@gnu2 no argument there. I think some of your ideas of who benefit from walking, biking and transit improvements and who works are misplaced.

@seabikeblog fatsos would benefit from walking and biking. Only the capitalists that sell the construction to local governments benefit from bike paths and transit "improvements."
