I don't remember if the key Microsoft Github has was rsa or dsa, but something like this is probably why I'll eventually remove my repositories from that site shortly before losing access.

See https://github.com/landley/toybox/commit/35663d6bfc49 for backstory. (Yes that is a shell script to close issues without web access.)

If ultimatums worked on me I'd be using faceboot from windows. You have FOMO, I feel I've dodged a bullet. First one's free, like credit card offers in the mail...

This is a temporary commit to close a Microsoft Github pull/issue, because Microsoft took away the maintainer's access to the web interface, ala: https://github.blog/2022-05-04-software-securi...

@landley It's neither, rather ecdsa. Which won't be deprecated any time soon. It's pretty much the normie choice for folks who trust gov-affiliated standards, vs ed25519 which experts would probably prefer. Ridiculously oversized rsa is still the strongest tho.

@landley @b0rk Yes, RSA has the scalable strength (sufficient even if you believe in QC) and solid history of not being broken combined with being thoroughly understandable by middle school kids.

@dalias And the most explicable: https://www.muppetlabs.com/~breadbox/txt/rsa.html (I wonder if @b0rk has seen that...)
