     I had to sit through three days of voir dire for jury duty last year. Civil case, personal injury, car accident

     When plaintiff's attorney asked the ~200 of us how many had been personally involved in a PI case, more than half the people raised their hand. Being a relatively recent transplant, I wasn't one of them

     When voir dire finally got around to me, lawyer asked me ONE question. I answered, judge kicked us all out of the room for 20 mins, called us back in, "Case dismissed"

     Took them three days to get to me. Plaintiff's atty first question to every prospect:

     "Do you think you're capable of being brutally honest? It's important that you be able to be brutally honest."

     When he got to me on the third day I said, "I object to the question. I'm confident I can be completely honest without ever having to be brutal."

     Judge, who'd been silent for three days, thanked me for saying that, dismissed the room, and when we came back... case was settled
