@ionica Central limit theorem depends on RVs being IID. In the case of cooking for a group, neither the independent part (their levels of hunger are likely correlated, even influenced by each other) nor the "identically distributed" part seem like valid assumptions.
@ionica Oddly, it seems like the conclusion matches empirical results. I just don't think the Central Limit Theorem is the explanation.
