   People in San Francisco: 'the best chinese food is *only* in little mom and pop shops'

   Me: i miss opulent amazing Cantonese restaurants.

   Also, not believing that Chinese food can be nice and fancy and expensive is a little weird.

   Just because a restaurant is a little mom and pop shop doesn't make it great, just as it doesn't make it great that it's a fancy Chinese restaurant. But great Chinese food exists along... a spectrum!

     I haven't been to the place mentioned by the blog post above but it's totally a place I would love.

     @skinnylatte reminds me of reading the yelp reviews for Slanted Door and seeing people baffled and angry that a Vietnamese place is upscale/expensive. Bizarre mindset >.<
