Bonjour! I’m a US citizen living in France with a verbal job offer from a US IT company willing to hire me remotely, pending legal review with their employment lawyer.

I need advice on whether to ask for contractor vs employee status and the legal/tax implications of both (they haven't decided which they want me as).
