   @eugenialoli well...the explore page looks at number of boosts on a single post in a specific timeframe.

   Trending hashtags looks at number of posts using the hashtag.

   So they're not mutually exclusive.

     I don't understand this. G__z_a has been the most used hashtag on mastodon today but no post using the word as a tag is showing in the "Explore" feed. It's as if there's no discussion about it in the most popular posts, which is very unlike at how mastodon has been in the past. I'm not crying foul, I just don't understand this new development. Is it a fluke?
