Ai art models are cool and all. But the real winner is when the first open source widely available ink printer comes out.
Fucked up, I have time but not the money. When I do have the money I won't have the time. I need a research grant or something.

I read an article about this once. Printers are a nightmare apparently. That's why no one has tried it.

I have a Xerox machine I lease for 60 months immediately before covid. Then everything switch to electronic filing, etc. I rarely use the fucker, but pay a grip for it. Lease comes up soon though.

I'm thinking you could zip tie Bic pens to an off-shore CNC machine and still have a more reliable printer than some of the garbage that's out there. I have a Canon that failed after ~100 pages. Just two days later, it stopped powering up altogether. So it's not even useful as a scanner.

And it should be able to take in any ink cartridge. Maybe adapters could be 3D printed for the most popular brands.

@Humpleupagus The more i think about it idk where to start.
probably try and look at how a printer works first mechanically.
really all that's needed is one printer you can rape to take any ink.
