@orowith2os @TheEvilSkeleton So it's kind of the position the global shortcut portal has been in for a while, it was merged into the portal project and the KDE portal has it, but the GNOME portal doesn't yet. Which makes it really hard for app developers to actually make use of it if they can't expect all desktops to support it.

@BrodieOnLinux @orowith2os @TheEvilSkeleton app developers shouldn't rely on new APIs like this one just a few weeks after it's been released. Relying on very fresh APIs can cause breakage in some distros like Debian stable. Especially if it's depending on the host OS to provide some functionality to contained apps.

@mathieucomandon @orowith2os @TheEvilSkeleton That's for sure another problem as well, both of these portals have been around for quite a while in the portal project itself, but getting things into the desktop has taken quite a lot more time.
