   @brenttoderian.bsky.social I'm genuinely curious - what do you think would be the hidden reason for him not being able to pass the checks?

   I'm no expert (I'm an American just observing) but I feel like it could be either a) he's got something big to hide or b) he thinks refusing the security clearance is a way of signaling that he won't play by the rules of the elites.

   Option A seems the most likely but what could he be hiding? And if it is Option B it seems like a strange hill to die on.

     Interesting. So it is either that something has happened in the past 10 years or so, or he is using this to virtue signal to his base that he is a bad boy who doesn't play by the rules?

     Mr. Poilievre had a security clearance ten years ago, when he served in cabinet.
