@xerz It can be the kernel. I feel like the kernel is quite buggy lately. All the annoying issues I had recently were about kernel.

@xerz And yes. Monolithic kernels are just fine. Microkernels are only useful for proprietary modules because free software is trusted and there are no bugs in it. oh wait...

@ligne @xerz And nobody violates GPL or creates GPL-incompatible drivers.
Nor does anyone keeps huge vendor trees that realistically won't be mainlined any time soon. -

@tusooa @xerz @ligne It was sarcasm, outside of ATi/AMDGPU and Intel, as far as I know all official GPU drivers are proprietary so the libre drivers you get are reversed-engineered.
And ATi/AMDGPU was rather infamous for horrible drivers before it finally got libre drivers.
ARM ecosystem regularly has vendors violating the GPL, Allwinner for example.
