@mloxton @Zennagain feminists don't actually believe in positive masculinity so it fits -

That's called equivocation. You are using the term "masculinity" in two different senses to claim that there is a causal effect.Toxic masculinity refers to a behavior pattern
The number of single-parent homes refers to prevalence. Also, the graphic is shit

80% of men in prison for violent crime were raised in a fatherless home
For murder on death sentence I think it was over 90%

@mloxton it's basically a bait and switch because they don't consider any of those characteristics to be male characteristics so they can dispense with the concept of it kind of like you're saying. This is how they justify the lack of a male figure in a child's life as being not that big of a deal, because those characteristics "can be provided by anyone". Statistically this has a negative correlation with reality. Of course there are confounding factors.
For what it's worth, I think it's true a mom staying with a dad who is abusive "for the child", is probably a worse scenario than being on their own, but a spade's a spade, a (good) father figure in a child's life probably doesn't have a substitute. -

Really?
Have you looked at what feminists say about masculinity? From what I see, they are very positive about men being happy, self-fulfilled, and have a very encouraging perspective on positive masculinity.
For my own part, I think "masculinity" is an empty and obsolete term, and deserves to be dropped into the garbage bin. But then I'm not a feminist

@mloxton there's not enough work on uinwinding the confounding factors to say that definitively so I'm sticking with my story, in particular black males desperately need father figures, the numbers do bear it out. -

"Statistically this has a negative correlation with reality"It doesn't
What it is measuring is "low income" and "discretionary time"Having two parents correlates strongly to income, and income to childhood wellbeing and low criminality.
The two parents can be one man and one woman, two women, two men, or two of no gender at all, so long as their income and discretionary time gives the child a stable and healthy environment. -

Again, this work has been done. The principle component here is income - SES, not males.
I will leave it to someone else to point out the racism in the rest of your statement.I suggest that you either take this up as a proper research project, or get better sources.

@mloxton there are studies about exactly this that do find a difference, they suppose it has to do with institutional racism. maybe it does or maybe it doesn't. there is probably more definitive research since when I was at university. not trying to say blacks are inferior just that the national statistics aren't uniform when you break it down demographically. I'm not trying to start a fight with you so I'm letting it go, I will actually defer to you if this is your field. -

Oh sure.
I am not going to bother researching this topic beyond what I have already seen in peer reviewed journals and by experts in this field. I will stick to research in my own field, but I am certainly able to set *you* straight.Once more, the research showed that it was not the presence of a male that made the difference, but the income level that having two parents could deliver.
I suggest you abandon this notion, and find something more worthwhile - like vaccination rates
