@ninapaley But nobody has EVER suggested that men in frocks (ie transvestites) should not be housed, employed, etc. They've got basic human rights, like everyone else. They have NEVER explained what "trans-rights" are.
Even bringing that into his cringily apologetic essay is disingenuous.
And comparing them with Catholics is bonkers.
Trannies have NEVER accepted that they have a "belief", they have tried to force society to put them in a dominant position over ALL other "protected" groups; the disabled, children, the elderly, and make everything fit round them and accommodate them, to the detriment of those other groups.
Catholics do also evangelise, but they accept that they are one religion among many.
They do not say that they've been around "forever" (like the trannies do), because their religion has a recognized start date of 2025 years ago!- KeepTakingTheSoma likes this.

"We should not discriminate against trans-identified individuals in matters of housing, education, employment, etc. An employee who is a good employee and deserves a promotion should not be denied that promotion because he believes he is a woman any more than an employee who is Catholic should be denied the promotion because he believes priests engage in transubstantiation and turn bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus.
Both the Catholic and the trans-identified person can choose to believe as they wish. Both can present themselves in a way that reflects their beliefs. But neither can compel us to accept their metaphysical beliefs."
