But that's nothing compared to TECO, which was (as I recall):

@lauren That doesn't work for me in, still stuck in a Supdup to a ITS system from a Lisp Machine.
@not2b C-z works just fine, gets back to the REPL.
@lauren Emacs is control x control c. Editors don't want to make it easy to leave.
